Letting Go Doesn't Mean Giving Up or Forgetting ...

Light

I'm changing how I think and therefore it changes ...

... how I feel about any given situation. Sure, I get frustrated and angry (when my Ego fears loss of illusory control), but I remain aware of how unhealthy it is to hold on to anger. When I spread kindness and love towards others, I am aware that I'm living within my spiritual parameters. When I humbly apologize for my part in the psychodramas that occur in some of my daily Life situations, I'm letting go of the hurt, the pain and the reasons behind why I reacted in the first place.

Let it go! Holding on isn't our 'friend' nor does it add up to positive living or a positive outlook ~ holding on tightly creates a type of resistance that over time can damage our cells or organs. When there is an imbalance in the energetic body (aura), over time it will wear down the emotional/mental body and eventually the physical. That kind of toxicity needs to be transmuted (changed). The toxicity can be transmuted  through a process that brings the toxicity ~ the strong feelings/emotions that are attached to specific situations from your past ~ to the surface of our subconscious minds where all can be healed. There are so many instances that tend to trigger the specific emotional reactions that are attached to past experiences. It's important to identify and let go of those toxicities.

We Create That Which We Surround Ourselves With

If I hold on to anger and/or resentment, I'm allowing the behaviors of others to control my emotions and, indeed, my entire emotional/spiritual Life. If I hold on to anger and/or resentments, I'm allowing toxicity to fester within my energetic body ~ my Light Body ~ my spiritual aura, where it will eventually wreak havoc on my cells and organs. Our toxic emotions create energies in the matrix of Life ~ energies that are less than filled with Light, opaque and muddy, dark and chaotic ~ and those energies can only be transmuted when they're exposed to the Light of Consciousness.

This is the main reason that forgiveness is paramount if one is to live a spiritual Life. Not only forgiveness of others, but even more importantly forgiveness of our own Self.  If we hold on to resentments towards others whom we perrcieve have hurt us in some way, we are not hurting that person in the least. We are simply hurting our own spirits and stunting our own spiritual growth. How can we move past the obstacles of anger, fear, or resentment if we haven't yet learned to let go of those emotions and completely forgive?

Letting Go

This post is about letting go. Some people are under the false assumption that letting go means 'forgetting' or 'putting an end to something or someone'. For instance, a friend of mine thought when I was discussing letting go of my Soulmate who had just transitioned from this Life that it meant I was going to part with everything he'd ever meant to me and/or forget about him completely. Letting go does not mean giving up or giving away.

Letting go is a mental process ~ for me, it means letting go of illusions surrounding a situation. Letting go is a process, but it's not something that renders the situation or person we're letting go of invisible. Au contraire! There is a certain inner strength with letting go of something that no longer serves our highest good. When I let go of a person after they've passed, I'm letting go of the sadness, the grief, any resentments that were attached to situations involving that person. There's an inner strength in learning to let go ~ of outcomes, situations, feelings. Simply allowing things to BE is a form of letting go. In allowing the present moment to BE, we are letting go of desired outcomes and 'going with the flow' so to speak.

I think we all can learn to let go of the things that no longer serve our highest good.

Opening to Christ-Conscious Energies

What does the word "Christ" mean?

The Meaning of Christ

Christ. I was taught in my own Christian upbringing that Christ means 'light'. I was taught that Christ was Light. Jesus was His first name. Christ was His surname. That's okay.

I was taught that an aura (the sometimes visible to the naked eye glow or lightness surrounding living things) is called a 'halo'. Imagine my surprise and slight embarrassment when, many years down the road I pointed out to one of my spiritual teachers that the people in the painting we were marveling at had 'halos' around their heads.

Kayla chuckled quietly and without judgment. And responded with this:

"Well, they're like halos ~ they represent the individuals' aura. His or her essence or Soul."

The word Christ comes from the Greek word "christos" meaning 'anointed one'. If you follow the link placed below the photograph to the left, you can read the entire explanation from a Christian viewpoint. (Naturally, there are many other perspectives on this concept, but I'm offering the Christian perspective, because that's the one I'm most familiar with.)

The concept of a Messiah, an Anointed One, a Savior, if you will is not exclusive to Christianity, either. Many religious philosophies teach that an enlightened being, a Master of sorts, will bring Light, Love and Consciousness to a world being manifested through chaos, greed and desperation. Why did I choose the words 'being manifested' in the previous sentence? Because that is exactly what the world around us is. Each of us creates our own existence with our thoughts and our conditioned and non-conditioned beliefs. What are the differences between conditioned and non-conditioned beliefs, you inquire? Let me explain, in a nutshell.

Conditioned Beliefs

Conditioned beliefs are the ones we grew up believing. because our experiences, parents, teachers, society as a whole ~ believed those conditioned beliefs wholeheartedly and in turn, we took them on through the process of osmosis. Their beliefs were placed upon us as we merged with society's way of believing and thinking about certain things and situations. Conditioned beliefs can be changed, like all beliefs, as we become more emotionally intelligent and mature.

Non-Conditioned Beliefs

Non-conditioned beliefs are those beliefs we've picked up along our path in Life that we hold dear. These beliefs are usually of our own making, our own perceptions of the things we've experienced on our individual paths. Non-conditioned beliefs can also be changed as we grow and mature, spiritually.
Christ Consciousness revealed ...

The Moment of Awakening

At the precise moment of awakening, the moment in the morning right before you open your eyes to start your day, there is a source of power in that particular moment that needs to be utilized. It is in that precise auspicious moment when you have the innate power to create your entire day. You can create a wonderful experience to build upon or you can create a chaotic mess. It is truly up to you.

At that precise moment when you awaken, tap into the collective Christ-consciousness ~ the awakened Light, the anointed One, Unconditional Love ~ and speak your power, your truth. "My day is filled with surprises, miracles and love!" or, alternatively, "This is gonna be a great day!" If you choose a less optimistic path, you could say: "This day is gonna suck!" But would you really want to start your day built upon that statement?

Simple words, whether or not you believe them in the moment, can create your day to be wonderful ~ or not. When a person awakens with bitterness, sadness, anger, resentments or conflicts on his or her heart and soul, he or she creates a cesspool of misaligned energies rather than clear, balanced powerful lightness. Sometimes, like during the grieving process of a loved one's passing, we don't even wish to awaken with joy, love and awareness. It's okay. We're human beings. We need to allow ourselves time for grief, just as we need to allow ourselves time to rejoice. If we didn't have misaligned energies in this existence, we'd not have balanced energies, either. It truly takes one reality to know the other.

Christ-Consciousness & Other Energies

If we find a need to label the energies ~ good or bad, negative or positive, dark or light ~ we aren't allowing the energies to simply BE, to simply exist. We're attempting to categorize, control and manipulate, to package and wrap it all up in a neat and tidy box. Like the simply physics rule, energy can neither be created or destroyed ~ it's physics. Energy simply IS. Christ-Conscious energy is highly vibrational, spirited (no pun intended) energy that sizzles with excitement and Life force. We are all privy to this perfect energy, the high vibrations of Christ-Conscious Energy ~ there is no need for us to do or say anything, the energy is available to anyone at anytime. There are simple exercises we can do to connect with the Christ-Consciousness that is currently infiltrating and surrounding Mother Earth. I'll outline one now ...
Meditate on the Light

Simple Meditation to Open to Christ~Energy

Simply sit in a comfortable position with feet flat on the floor. You can light a candle, incense, anything that might help you to attain a relaxed state of mind. Relax into your body, focus on your breathing. With every intake of breath, count to three slowly. With every outtake of breath, count to three slowly. Become one with your breathing and no matter what thoughts come into your head simply allow them to be. Notice the thoughts, but don't focus on the them  ~  simply let them hover there ~ just observe. Continue focusing on your breath.

Imagine your Crown Chakra at the top of your head: It's glowing, pulsating White Light (the color of the Crown Chakra is associated with White) reaching ever upward to connect with the Creator's Light. Imagine the White Light, the Golden Shower of God's Light hands pouring down from the heaven's and into your Crown Chakra. Imagine the Light of the Creator, the Universe pouring steadily and freely into your Crown Chakra and filling your very physical form with Light and Lightness. Imagine the White Light of the Creator aligning itself to your other Chakras, straight through from Crown to Root Chakra, connecting and aligning your Chakras with its powerful healing light.

These are the Christed Energies ~ the Christ Consciousness. Let your physical form be filled to overflowing with the bright, white light of God. Revel in that Light for however long you can hold it within. Let the Light permeate every cell, every neuron, every fiber of your entire Being. Sit quietly with the Light until your Consciousness feels it's time to come back to reality.

When you complete this meditation, ground yourself by holding a chunk of hematite in your left hand and/or putting a tiny bit of salt on your tongue. Grounding your energy back to Mother Earth after mediation is important. If you're feeling dizzy or lightheaded from this meditation, don't be concerned. It happens and isn't anything to be concerned about.

Conclusion

If you practice the preceding meditation as often as possible (try daily for 10 minutes at first and then increase if you wish) your physical form will begin to open to the Christed energies. These Light energies are powerful and Life changing! Don't be surprised when people and situations around you begin to change and sometimes fade out of your Life permanently ~ things and people that no longer support your continued growth and expansion will begin to fade away and you will begin to feel more connected to humanity than ever before. Opening to Christ Consciousness is an ever-changing, ever-expanding process that once set into motion will not cease ~ it continues on ...

The Light Revealed!

In the Beginning ...

Sometimes, this climate seems unconscionable, and so difficult to navigate for many, but it will change quickly and hopefully, peacefully. The current political/societal climate has all of us walking on eggshells, afraid of our own responses, reactions, words, etc. Interestingly, either side is fighting about or against their own opinions. The words and phrases we're spewing basically align with our own long-held, personal, conditioned beliefs.

What if we all began to awaken to the fact that our internal belief system is not really our own? We were all raised this way or that way-and many of us get angry at the thought that others weren't raised ‘with the same values’, beliefs, political background, ethics, morals, etc. as we were. But if we were all the same - homogenous - wouldn't that feel monotonous and bland after a while? Change is our only constant in Life, and for me personally, change keeps me on my toes consistently!

Opening to Listen to One Another

We do need to be willing to listen to one another's opinions, feelings and views using our mature emotional intelligence abilities. None of us has to change his or her personal beliefs or opinions unless he/she wants to explore the deeper aspects of our individual inner workings. When doing so, it helps to have unbiased, neutral people listen to our laments. For me, it helps to have a neutral ear.

I hear myself talking out loud to her and it's as though I'm observing myself. In that way, my Inner Guide/Higher Self (God, Jesus, Allah, Yaweh, Creator, Great Spirit, etc.) discerns truth from chaff. As I observe my self, my Self discerns the truth.

Collectively, imagine how much more empowered and connected we'd feel as citizens united against those things we abhor: anger, hatred, abuses, bigotry, negativity, chaos, war. How empowered would you feel if those around you felt the same way you did about those same issues? But then, we can stand apart from others and know that we abhor and disown all the negative behaviors without getting caught up in the resistance aspects of each one. We know intrinsically that what we resist continues to persist long and hard, making it difficult to ever come to a place of peace without our Self.

Unfortunately, some of us are incapable of letting go of the Egoic need to be 'right', and also of old conditioning. Therefore, it is difficult to be rigorously honest with our selves. Fear prevents many of us from looking deep within and bringing up those old paradigms and beliefs that no longer serve us individually or serve the greater good. Letting go is a process that takes practice, but there is freedom in knowing that anyone or anything, which no longer serves my higher purpose or the good of humanity can be let go of.

We are More Similar than we are Different

Humanity needs to be united for all peoples, no matter their religion, race, color, sexual orientation or other perceived differences. Indeed, for all sentient beings. All the aforementioned extraneous aspects do not and never have mattered. It is the human condition that has made these irrelevant issues relevant.

In all the disagreeing, hatred, anger, judgment, et al, which is being cycled and recycled around our planet currently, we are not SOLVING anything. We are simply perpetuating problems if we are engaging in banter about ‘differences’. We are perpetuating the dissension if we are remaining silent, as well. Without dissension, changes can not and will not happen, nor has change ever taken place in history without periods of dissension. Logically, we are all acting insanely, yet we are refusing to see exactly how insanely we are behaving.

Today, I am changing my involvement in these processes. Today, I am willing to see that changes can and will happen amidst the dissension. Today, I am willing to BE the change I wish to see in the world. Today, I will see the Light within my brothers and sisters rather than the darkness surrounding them.

I am the beacon of Light that will shine her love on all of humanity!

SPRING into SPRING!!!

Greetings, Everyone!
Springtime blossoms brighten the landscape
It's officially Spring! With the dawning of Spring comes more light, new Life, renewed Energy! There is actually more light because we have 'sprung ahead' an hour with man-made time, but also because Spring conjures up feelings of newness and light for many of us. New Life in the form of flowers blooming, buds on trees, grass, animal babies, fishes, tadpoles, and so much more! Winter's deep slumber segues into Mother Nature's gentle awakening of new Life, new Beginnings.  When I was a child, the freshness of Spring was always a fascinating time for me. The first signs of Spring were those of multi-colored crocuses pushing up mightily through the melting snow, stretching their buds up toward the light, and lazily spreading their colorful petals open to greet the warm, golden sunshine of Spring.
Spying the red-breasted robins hopping along in search of food or materials to build their nests was another sure sign of spring, and always one that was sure to excite me in anticipation of warmer days ahead. The scents of deep, rich Maine soil infused with ages-old, nutrient-dense decayed materials like leaves, flowers and such, wafted up to assault my senses every Spring.
Pussy Willow: an early sign of Spring in the Northeast (Photo: Hubert Steed)

Pussy willows, the most beautiful, furry little things and one of the earliest signs of Spring in Maine, grow well in damp, swampy areas. In the neighborhood I grew up in (Winslow, Maine), I'd seek out the streams, ponds and brooks that harbored beautiful pussy willow plants. The legend I recall about pussy willows ~ and I don't remember if it was one of my aunt's who told me or if I read it somewhere ~ is that pussy willows came about after some little kittens who were playing at the river's edge, were rescued from drowning by grasping the willow branches that hung down into the water.

When I was a little kid watching Spring coming to Life every year, I'd watch the little ducklings, chicks, goslings, lambs, horses and other baby animals trotting and frolicking in fields of new grass, edging playfully away from their mothers as they awakened to their newfound independence. Springtime was always an awakening of both mind and spirit imbued with sensory pleasures that many people are oblivious to or simply don't have time to indulge in.

As a child, I appreciated every sight, scent and emotion I experienced with the dawning of Spring. Those feelings alleviated me from the remnants and residuals of heavier emotions I'd grapple with. The nearly palpable fresh, muddy scent of the earth, soaked with remnants of melting snow and ice was exhilarating for me! I'd often stop and take in deep, lung-expanding breaths of fresh, clean Springtime air. The scents and sights of Spring pleasantly assaulted my senses as She gently introduced herself to me year after year.
Daffodils and ducklings are a sure sign of Spring
Spring reminds me that Life is precious and it's something that simply mustn't be taken for granted ~ ever. In order to live Life to the fullest, we need to remember that we create our happiness as surely as we create our sorrows. That isn't to say that all situations are within our control, but that our thoughts and words can either help us through everything or hinder us while navigating Life.
Pussy Willows in an Azure Sky (Photo: Hubert Steed)
Life will always be a series of ups and downs for any of us, because the only constant in Life is change. Change has always been and will always be. Change's agonist is Acceptance. Acceptance quells the anxiety and fear associated with Change. Acceptance is a wonderful state of living and being, in my experiences, but sometimes acceptance is easy to forget.
When I'm resisting changes of any type, I'm unhappy, obsessed, confused, angry, and obstinate. But when I open my mind, my heart and become willing to surrender to what is, I'm more at peace, clear-thinking, happy, open/flexible, and loving/kind. Fear can make any of us seem like pretty scary monsters! I've had to see my own monster rear its ugly head, especially during my earlier years in recovery, when anger seemed like the only emotion that threatened to burst forth from that dark place inside of me.
Words are powerful weapons, and when used in anger they can slice without mercy. The wounds my words have inflicted upon some undeserving Souls sometimes left chaos and sadness in their wake. The harm I caused others was not caused out of malice or intent, but derived from a place of painful unknowing. It was a place so deep and dark and lonely that even I was hesitant to venture into it. But in order to heal that cesspool of darkness by imbuing it with the bright and healing light of Reiki, I was required to not only access it, but to purge it completely. The ensuing battles ~ both inner and outer ~ were necessary and welcomed. I engaged in them with eyes wide open, and with a willingness to see my part in any and all situations.

So Springtime brings up all some wonderful feelings and memories for me, and reminds me that not only is the enviroment ~ Mother Earth, Gaia ~ constantly changing, expanding, growing, dying to Herself and then rising again from the ashes, we all are.

Many Blessings of Warmth, Light and Love, my friends!

A Light Story ~ Transitions

A Little Background

It had been a day since I'd left my assignment at a small, acute care facility in Lake Worth, Florida. I'd left a patient I'd been working with for a few weeks, who was now awaiting his son's arrival from another state before he transitioned from this plane to the next. This patient was one of my favorites (as it sometimes goes in nursing and in Life!). In nursing, you're given a set assignment of patients when you show up for your shift on any given day. If you're working 3 12-hour shifts in a row, you essentially (and hopefully) keep the same assignment for what is termed 'continuity of care'. It's always good to get to know your patient and establish a trusting, working rapport with each other.

Anyway, on this particular day, I was assigned to a wonderful patient whom I'd worked with previously. He was a joy to work with and even though he was non-verbal due to his labored breathing, his eyes and a brief nod or shake of his head always told me more than I needed to know to keep him comfortable and as stable as possible despite his precarious condition. His status had declined over the weeks and he was currently being treated with a 'palliative care' status, as his Life on this plane was coming to an end. No matter what, this patient always had a big, toothless grin for me when I entered his room. His lovely grin would light up his entire face and his Soul shone brightly through his azure eyes.

I cared for him as I would any other patient ~ with love, kindness, and compassion. This is something we learn over the years if we are truly nurses, as nurses are meant to be: We learn to put principles before personalities; which is to say, no matter what our personal judgments may be, we learn to love and care for each patient as though they were one of our loved ones, one of our own. There is no room in nursing for preferential treatment. Our patients are our patients: They are our responsibility, and are given over to our care and trust for the time we are with them. It is our responsibility to nurture them during our shift, but above all to RESPECT them while we are entrusted to caring for them. It really isn't our place to judge our patients, no matter what.

So, I left my patients that day with a bit of melancholy, as I felt in my heart that I wouldn't see my 'favorite' patient again after my 4 days off. I knew he was not long for this world, and I didn't want to begrudge him that, as he'd been struggling to breathe for way too long.

The next night I had a dream, of sorts, in which a bright and glowing entity hovered in front of me and I heard the words: "Thank you!" announced. That was it. That was all. I instantly opened my eyes, and a familiar knowing entered my consciousness. In that instant, I knew my patient had finally been released and was free from this world. When I returned to work the following week, I found out that he'd indeed passed and it was the very night that I'd dreamed he'd come to me whispering his thanks. It's interesting how those things happen.

If we're open to miracles, we see them happening all the time.
Until next time, my friends ~ Keep it REAL.

Protecting Yourself from Negative Energies

I've decided to re-post some of my most loved and cherished posts since I started this new blog. So this day, I share with you all about how you can protect yourself from negative energies. I've updated it a bit, as well. Enjoy!

I have been led by my Guides and the Archangels to share this beautiful card via my RSS feed this morning. It was posted on my home page by one of my many lovely contacts. To you of whom I speak, many Bright Reiki Blessings! xoxox

I am encouraged to speak my Truth about this card, as the Healing Energies of the Universe guide me. No matter who you are and no matter where you come from, this message is meant for you.

The healing energies of the Universe are open and available to YOU, today and always. The healing energies are here to assist you in healing your Heart (emotions), Mind (thoughts), and Soul (traumas) from all the harsh realities that have plagued or befallen you in this Lifetime, or any Lifetimes past.

Protect yourself from negative vibrations and those who attempt to pierce your Light Shield with negative thoughts about you, or negative words hurled at you. Even as there are boundless Light-filled, healing Energies in the Universe, there are boundless dark energies seeking to negate the Light! By protecting yourself, you are shielding yourself from those dark energies that some philosophies call 'demons' or 'shadows'.

Close your eyes, dear Ones, and imagine God (or Goddess, Allah, Jesus, Yaweh, etc.) imagine your Higher Power(s) opening His/Her hands and pouring Divine White/Golden Light down from the heavens to surround you, your beloved pets, your home, and your loved ones. Imagine that this Divine Light seeps in and around you and your loved ones, providing a Light Shield that will protect you all day from harshness, dark energies, negative people, negative thoughts, and psychic darts. Imagine that you are enveloped in this healing Divine Light as you walk, read, play, work, and go about your daily business on Mother Earth today. You are protected by Divine Light now.

Practice this exercise daily before you leave the house and upon awakening. Your Life will slowly become more tolerable, less chaotic, and much less filled with the negative drama of others ~

~ Many Bright Reiki Blessings to you All ~

Love,
