The Light Revealed!

In the Beginning ...

Sometimes, this climate seems unconscionable, and so difficult to navigate for many, but it will change quickly and hopefully, peacefully. The current political/societal climate has all of us walking on eggshells, afraid of our own responses, reactions, words, etc. Interestingly, either side is fighting about or against their own opinions. The words and phrases we're spewing basically align with our own long-held, personal, conditioned beliefs.

What if we all began to awaken to the fact that our internal belief system is not really our own? We were all raised this way or that way-and many of us get angry at the thought that others weren't raised ‘with the same values’, beliefs, political background, ethics, morals, etc. as we were. But if we were all the same - homogenous - wouldn't that feel monotonous and bland after a while? Change is our only constant in Life, and for me personally, change keeps me on my toes consistently!

Opening to Listen to One Another

We do need to be willing to listen to one another's opinions, feelings and views using our mature emotional intelligence abilities. None of us has to change his or her personal beliefs or opinions unless he/she wants to explore the deeper aspects of our individual inner workings. When doing so, it helps to have unbiased, neutral people listen to our laments. For me, it helps to have a neutral ear.

I hear myself talking out loud to her and it's as though I'm observing myself. In that way, my Inner Guide/Higher Self (God, Jesus, Allah, Yaweh, Creator, Great Spirit, etc.) discerns truth from chaff. As I observe my self, my Self discerns the truth.

Collectively, imagine how much more empowered and connected we'd feel as citizens united against those things we abhor: anger, hatred, abuses, bigotry, negativity, chaos, war. How empowered would you feel if those around you felt the same way you did about those same issues? But then, we can stand apart from others and know that we abhor and disown all the negative behaviors without getting caught up in the resistance aspects of each one. We know intrinsically that what we resist continues to persist long and hard, making it difficult to ever come to a place of peace without our Self.

Unfortunately, some of us are incapable of letting go of the Egoic need to be 'right', and also of old conditioning. Therefore, it is difficult to be rigorously honest with our selves. Fear prevents many of us from looking deep within and bringing up those old paradigms and beliefs that no longer serve us individually or serve the greater good. Letting go is a process that takes practice, but there is freedom in knowing that anyone or anything, which no longer serves my higher purpose or the good of humanity can be let go of.

We are More Similar than we are Different

Humanity needs to be united for all peoples, no matter their religion, race, color, sexual orientation or other perceived differences. Indeed, for all sentient beings. All the aforementioned extraneous aspects do not and never have mattered. It is the human condition that has made these irrelevant issues relevant.

In all the disagreeing, hatred, anger, judgment, et al, which is being cycled and recycled around our planet currently, we are not SOLVING anything. We are simply perpetuating problems if we are engaging in banter about ‘differences’. We are perpetuating the dissension if we are remaining silent, as well. Without dissension, changes can not and will not happen, nor has change ever taken place in history without periods of dissension. Logically, we are all acting insanely, yet we are refusing to see exactly how insanely we are behaving.

Today, I am changing my involvement in these processes. Today, I am willing to see that changes can and will happen amidst the dissension. Today, I am willing to BE the change I wish to see in the world. Today, I will see the Light within my brothers and sisters rather than the darkness surrounding them.

I am the beacon of Light that will shine her love on all of humanity!

INTENTIONS: Utilizing Reiki Beyond the Law of Attraction

The following was first published here:
Reiki: (pronounced RAY-KEY)

Intentions are like commands to the Universe. What we focus on, think about, and feel is what we create into being. Have you ever really considered that concept? It takes contemplation and a still mind to thoroughly understand and grasp that concept fully. It’s as though one gets short ‘glimpses’ of the reality of this concept at times, and at other times the true meaning is lost in the chaos of our Life situations. Maybe it’s simply a matter of presence, then? Of being present, or being in the Present? Recently, it’s been more evident to many who discuss this concept that it’s actually the powerful emotion along with the thought that creates ones reality. For me, the addition of Reiki energy has inexplicably intensified and blessed the process in recent months.

Over time, some of us have learned that what we think we are or are not, so we become. What we think about wanting, needing, having, so we manifest. All energies (which we have created and commanded to God/Spirit through the power of our own thought patterns and spoken commands, coupled with strong emotion) either manifest or are evident in particular situations in our lives, be they negative or positive. Basically, it's simply the law of karma: What we put forth (intent!), so it is. Or, as printed in the Christian Bible in a letter from Paul to some early Christian groups: “What we sow, so shall we reap” (Galatians 6:7-9).

Now, imagine placing the power of Reiki behind the thought and emotion, to ensure that what is manifested be blessed and ‘infused’ with Reiki energy: the incredible, versatile power of Reiki healing energy! This process, utilizing Reiki energy as a final seal or an energetic tool (prayer!) whilst manifesting enriches and spiritually charges the specific manifestation or creation being brought about.

With every thought, word, and action, be they negative or positive, we are creating our futures. This concept seems to be a difficult one to grasp for so many of us.  It has taken some of us many years and focus to figure out that what we allow ourselves to think, dream, and/or speak manifests in the physical world, time and again. This is what is called in physics 'The Law of Attraction'. What we sometimes fail to realize is that until we come to understand the power of our thoughts (they are energy, and energy does not die-that's simple physics!) we will continue to feel powerless in creating our own lives. We need to realize that it’s not simply the thought that creates our reality; it’s the thought coupled with powerful emotional responses (or reactions!) that creates our reality. When we create our reality, and add the healing and powerful energy of Reiki (infusing our creations with the Blessed Reiki symbols) it’s like putting the icing on the cake: Sweet emotion! (To quote Aerosmith’s 1975 hit) The emotion behind the thought pushes our manifested realities into Being.

When we learn to accept responsibility for our own lives, happiness, misery, etc., and begin to realize that there is no one and nothing outside of ourselves responsible for making our lives happier, more fulfilling ~ no one but our Selves! ~ We feel empowered. Ego (stinkin’ thinkin’!) attempts to create obstacles to allowing us the glimpses of Life free from negativity, or anchors, which weigh us down on our Life path, and prevent us from moving forward. When we get stuck in ‘stinkin’ thinkin’ (our EGO) we need to find a way to become free of thought once again. We can do this in many ways, such as using meditation, prayer, stillness, imagination, writing, singing, etc. as a vehicle of self-expression. When we let go of our ego Self and allow the Light in, we feel freer to express our true Self, our true Spirit.

The core of our very being is God; and God is brilliant and unconditional love ~ Love in its purest form. Even though many of us have merely caught glimpses of ‘knowing’ in regards to creating our realities, this does not prevent us from infusing our Lives with healing, powerful Reiki. Many of us have been using Reiki as a healing facilitator for others, while neglecting our Self. If we want to be an instrument in helping to heal Humanity, we first need to begin the process of healing ourselves. We can start by becoming more aware of ourselves and our words, thoughts, and actions; and then expanding to become an observer of our minds and intentions.

When we become more aware of ourselves and what we may or may not be creating in our own Life situations, the awareness is all we need to begin contemplating what we wish to change (or create) in our lives. If we are simply willing to be more open and aware, that willingness is key in opening to more awareness. Simply by being willing to be open, one can become more aware. Reiki can help us become more observant, more aware, and more forgiving on our Journey. Reiki is such incredibly powerful and healing energy! Even though it is not required to change our lives, or to create our realities, it remains an exemplary and versatile tool for my own personal development thus far.

For me personally, utilizing Reiki enhances every experience, and helps me remain focused on goodness, and positive things. Reiki has been ~ and is ~ a most compassionate, healing, and constant companion on my continuing Life Journey. That is not to say that I am a perfect, pious, and loving human being. I am certainly not! I am a fallible human being, and imperfect in all areas of my Life! But I strive to remain focused on healing my Self, improving my Self, and becoming more my True Self each day. Inner change is a process, after all, not an event!

Divine Reiki Blessings to all.

Fear and Powerful, Positive Words

A very thoughtful and poignant post from my daughter about fear on her Facebook page this week catapulted me into considering my own fears, and how I've overcome so many of those fears in my Lifetime. Fear is not a stranger to anyone on the planet, and its tentacles reach out to us in many ways, gripping our Souls and minds, and rooting in our psyches. Fear comes in many shapes, forms, and sizes, and it can be pervasive, invasive, and totally debilitating.

It isn't ever easy to change our responses and/or reactions to fear, nor is it easy to identity fear and become totally aware of it. We are a fear-based race ~ the human race ~ and sometimes others' perceptions, words, and actions can plummet us into a fear-filled vacuum from which it is difficult to extract ourselves.

Our analytical minds tend to over-think our emotional responses to fear. In fact, our analytical minds tend to over-think all emotions! When we learn to live in our Heart ~ live Heart-Centered, rather than Ego-centered ~ fear, anxiety, and other negative emotions are decreased, if not banished altogether.

How do we learn to live in our Heart-Center? We simply practice living in the moment, rather than in the past or the future. Living in the moment takes a lot of practice, and as the saying goes, 'practice makes perfect'. It's commonplace to find ourselves living in the future or in the past.

When we are fearful, worried, stressed ~ we are most likely living in the future, and worrying about something that hasn't happened, but that we fear may happen. When we are sad, depressed, angry ~ we are living in the past, remembering what someone said, did, (or didn't do!) and feeling the emotions that surrounded those circumstances. In the moment, there is nothing but bliss, Love, and contentment. The Present, the Now, is filled with Love, Bliss, and Calm. If we practice living in the Now, we no longer worry about the future or feel sad about the past.

It sounds so simple, doesn't it? And yet, it is not easy. It takes much more practice and mental focus than one can imagine. The good news is that with practice and diligence, we learn to live in the Now, and be present at all times. We need not live in FEAR (Face Everything And Recover!) any longer. We can be free of fear, and its constant nagging, burning pain. Our words, and our thoughts, create our realities.

Following are a few simple words, that when repeated often (and especially when our thoughts tend towards negativity!) can change our lives for the better.

"My Life is filled with Love, Peace, and Goodness"
"I flow freely with the rhythms of Life"
"I am brave and courageous"
"I live Life with ease and grace"

Try it for at least 21 days, and your Life will change!

A Light Story ~ Transitions

A Little Background

It had been a day since I'd left my assignment at a small, acute care facility in Lake Worth, Florida. I'd left a patient I'd been working with for a few weeks, who was now awaiting his son's arrival from another state before he transitioned from this plane to the next. This patient was one of my favorites (as it sometimes goes in nursing and in Life!). In nursing, you're given a set assignment of patients when you show up for your shift on any given day. If you're working 3 12-hour shifts in a row, you essentially (and hopefully) keep the same assignment for what is termed 'continuity of care'. It's always good to get to know your patient and establish a trusting, working rapport with each other.

Anyway, on this particular day, I was assigned to a wonderful patient whom I'd worked with previously. He was a joy to work with and even though he was non-verbal due to his labored breathing, his eyes and a brief nod or shake of his head always told me more than I needed to know to keep him comfortable and as stable as possible despite his precarious condition. His status had declined over the weeks and he was currently being treated with a 'palliative care' status, as his Life on this plane was coming to an end. No matter what, this patient always had a big, toothless grin for me when I entered his room. His lovely grin would light up his entire face and his Soul shone brightly through his azure eyes.

I cared for him as I would any other patient ~ with love, kindness, and compassion. This is something we learn over the years if we are truly nurses, as nurses are meant to be: We learn to put principles before personalities; which is to say, no matter what our personal judgments may be, we learn to love and care for each patient as though they were one of our loved ones, one of our own. There is no room in nursing for preferential treatment. Our patients are our patients: They are our responsibility, and are given over to our care and trust for the time we are with them. It is our responsibility to nurture them during our shift, but above all to RESPECT them while we are entrusted to caring for them. It really isn't our place to judge our patients, no matter what.

So, I left my patients that day with a bit of melancholy, as I felt in my heart that I wouldn't see my 'favorite' patient again after my 4 days off. I knew he was not long for this world, and I didn't want to begrudge him that, as he'd been struggling to breathe for way too long.

The next night I had a dream, of sorts, in which a bright and glowing entity hovered in front of me and I heard the words: "Thank you!" announced. That was it. That was all. I instantly opened my eyes, and a familiar knowing entered my consciousness. In that instant, I knew my patient had finally been released and was free from this world. When I returned to work the following week, I found out that he'd indeed passed and it was the very night that I'd dreamed he'd come to me whispering his thanks. It's interesting how those things happen.

If we're open to miracles, we see them happening all the time.
Until next time, my friends ~ Keep it REAL.

Intentions ...

Intentions are like commands to the Universe. What we focus on and think about is what we create into being.

Over time, some of us have learned that what we think we are or are not, so we become. What we think about wanting, needing, having, so we manifest. All past energies that we created and commanded to God/Spirit through the power of our own thought patterns and spoken commands either manifest and are created within our realms, be they negative or positive. Basically, it's simply the law of karma: What we put forth (intent!), so we become. Or, as printed in the Christian Bible in a letter from Paul to some early Christian groups: What we sow, so shall we reap (Galatians 6:7-9).

With every thought, word, and action, be those thoughts or words negative or positive, we are creating our futures. This concept seems to be a difficult one to grasp for so many of us.  It has taken some of us many years and focus to figure out that what we allow ourselves to THINK, DREAM, and SPEAK manifests in the physical world time and again. This is what is called in physics 'The Law of Attraction'. What we sometimes fail to realize is that until we come to understand the power of our thoughts (they are energy, and energy does not die-that's simple physics!) we will continue to feel powerless in creating our own lives.

These are simply some thoughts or ideas on how it is we create our realities, our situations, our lives. When we learn to accept responsibility for our own lives, and begin to realize that there is no one or nothing outside of ourselves that we require to make our lives what we dreamt it could be, we feel empowered. When we let go of our ego Self (Easing God Out) and allow the Light in, we can feel freer to express our true Self, our true Spirit.
