Reiki & My Nomadic Life

The Milky Way

This article was first published here:

This article is borne of my own lack of desire to get or have ‘roots’ in this incarnation. For so long, I’ve been struggling with a nagging inner voice that pushes me to venture out and expand my horizons, travel to new places and connect with new people for whom Reiki Energy may be helpful.

I was rooted in a toxic relationship many years, while at the same time I was on a Spiritual path to awakening to who I truly am. Whilst allowing myself & my energy to be quashed by remaining in an extremely toxic & non-productive union with someone who did not care about me as a person, and least of all about my spiritual life; I remained trapped within my own self-created prison.

I used Reiki Energy and even upgraded my Reiki Master/Teacher certification during that period of time, and obtained a second certification as a Reiki Master Teacher in the Holy Fire® Reiki tradition. Holy Fire® Reiki changed the direction of my Life immensely, as did my own practice of meditation, affirmations, inner work and self-healing.

After many years of contemplation and standstill, my Spirit is rooted in expansiveness, Light & fearlessness. I’ve tethered my Self to Life in such a way as to incorporate Reiki Energy and the Unconditional Love of self and others to expand my Life and move forward on my personal and spiritual Reiki Nomadic Journey.

Reiki & My Nomadic Life

I currently travel all over the United States ~ (and soon will incorporate Canada & Mexico, as well) ~ carrying with me Love, Light & Reiki towards all sentient beings whom I come into contact with. My inner compass leads the way as I contract with various facilities to work for 6-13 week stints caring for patients in a conventional, yet unconventional way in hospitals across the United States.

During these short-term contracts, I meet people from all walks of Life and with various vibrational levels. Some of these people are bathed in the vibrations of sorrow, some in hope, some in defeat, some in strength. In whatever way these souls present themselves to me, I align with their spirit and meet them exactly where they are, always with openness and integrity.

When I meet them with Presence and non-judgement, and speak to them about the amazing effects (and affects) of Reiki Energy ~ the Universal Life Force ~ they either shy away from its healing benefits, or they accept it at face value, and begin to ask questions. Either way, each of these precious Souls has been exposed to Reiki, the Universal Energy, and from this point forward will always be aware that there is an Ever-Present Energy in the Universe that heals profoundly and completely.

Naturally, one does not need to be a nomad to share the richness and beauty of Reiki Energy. This is my personal calling and I’m following my own path. I simply wanted to share it with other practitioners who may have a similar desire to travel simply and help others open to their own highest potential.

Reiki Blessings to All!

Fear and Powerful, Positive Words

A very thoughtful and poignant post from my daughter about fear on her Facebook page this week catapulted me into considering my own fears, and how I've overcome so many of those fears in my Lifetime. Fear is not a stranger to anyone on the planet, and its tentacles reach out to us in many ways, gripping our Souls and minds, and rooting in our psyches. Fear comes in many shapes, forms, and sizes, and it can be pervasive, invasive, and totally debilitating.

It isn't ever easy to change our responses and/or reactions to fear, nor is it easy to identity fear and become totally aware of it. We are a fear-based race ~ the human race ~ and sometimes others' perceptions, words, and actions can plummet us into a fear-filled vacuum from which it is difficult to extract ourselves.

Our analytical minds tend to over-think our emotional responses to fear. In fact, our analytical minds tend to over-think all emotions! When we learn to live in our Heart ~ live Heart-Centered, rather than Ego-centered ~ fear, anxiety, and other negative emotions are decreased, if not banished altogether.

How do we learn to live in our Heart-Center? We simply practice living in the moment, rather than in the past or the future. Living in the moment takes a lot of practice, and as the saying goes, 'practice makes perfect'. It's commonplace to find ourselves living in the future or in the past.

When we are fearful, worried, stressed ~ we are most likely living in the future, and worrying about something that hasn't happened, but that we fear may happen. When we are sad, depressed, angry ~ we are living in the past, remembering what someone said, did, (or didn't do!) and feeling the emotions that surrounded those circumstances. In the moment, there is nothing but bliss, Love, and contentment. The Present, the Now, is filled with Love, Bliss, and Calm. If we practice living in the Now, we no longer worry about the future or feel sad about the past.

It sounds so simple, doesn't it? And yet, it is not easy. It takes much more practice and mental focus than one can imagine. The good news is that with practice and diligence, we learn to live in the Now, and be present at all times. We need not live in FEAR (Face Everything And Recover!) any longer. We can be free of fear, and its constant nagging, burning pain. Our words, and our thoughts, create our realities.

Following are a few simple words, that when repeated often (and especially when our thoughts tend towards negativity!) can change our lives for the better.

"My Life is filled with Love, Peace, and Goodness"
"I flow freely with the rhythms of Life"
"I am brave and courageous"
"I live Life with ease and grace"

Try it for at least 21 days, and your Life will change!

Blessings to All ~

Universal Law Series: 12 The Law of Gender

12 ~ The Law of Gender

"This last of the 12 universal Laws states that everything has its masculine (yang) and its feminine (yin) principles, and that these are the basis for all creation. The spiritual Initiate must balance the masculine and feminine energies within herself or himself to become a Master and a true co-creator with God"

We all have within our Souls ~ within our Spirits ~ both masculine and feminine, yin and yang, dark and light, and so on. This 12th Law of the Universal Laws could be combined with a few of the previous ones, in fact. It speaks of balancing the opposites, and integrating them into our Being. On our Individual Journey, we must learn to balance the inner and outer worlds, we must learn to live in the present moment, in the Now.

We exist here on Earth in a dualistic Nature, and when we can integrate everything and see all in its proper perspective, we realize that All is One, and that there is no separation. The only separation that exists is the separation that we create in our own Mind. But, I digress.

This is the Law of Gender, the 12th Universal Law. This post completes the simplified version of the Universal Law Series. I hope this series has helped you to understand the 12 Universal Laws a little better.

Unconditional Love to all, my friends ~

Universal Law Series: 8 The Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy

8 ~ "This Universal Law states that all persons have within them the power to change the conditions in their lives. Higher vibrations consume and transform lower ones; thus, each of us can change the energies in our lives by understanding the Universal Laws and applying the principles in such a way as to effect change."

When we begin to become Conscious of our Self, we bring focus to our Self and our divinity. We instinctively know that we are One with God and with all that is. Thus, the Energy of Being transforms and transmutes all our dysfunctional thought patters of the mind. The mind (EGO) surrenders to All that Is, to Being, to God, to Self. Any negativity, all negative thought patterns that are created by the mind are dissolved, transmuted.

When we surrender to All That Is, to Being, we are no longer captive to the dysfunctional thought
patterns created by the mind, the EGO (Edging God Out). The EGO serves to keep us prisoner of the big lies that have been perpetuated for thousands of years, the lies that have prevented us from knowing the Truth of our Selves. We are not separate or separated from God, we are One with God. We all have the power within our Selves to transmute energy, to change our lives, to change our thought patterns, to BE.

Energy never dies, we all know this on some level. Energy never dies, but it can be changed, transmuted, transformed. The power to change energy lies within our Being. This is the eighth of the Universal Laws, and when we apply these Universal principals in our every day lives, we can change our lives by changing the energy of each thought, each action. The Universal operates through a simple reversal of sorts: Change your thinking, change your Life. It's truly simple, though it is not easy.

Bright Reiki Blessings to all ~

An Open Post Regarding Death ...

"It's okay to let go now. It's okay to go to the Light. Just follow the Light ... Go in peace. Go in Love."

Did you know that a person's hearing mechanism is the last thing to go, prior to death? When you are talking softly to a dying person, they can allegedly hear your every word. I've done that with a few of my patients, whom I knew were on the threshold of transition ...

As a practitioner in the field of Western medicine, it is not often that I have witnessed a person who is simply allowed to transition into the next state of Being. The choice is up to the patient; or in some cases, to his family members if he hasn't had the chance to outline what he wants to happen when his time approaches. A person can choose to be considered a 'DNR', which means he will be allowed to die peacefully, without any interventions.

But in many cases, there are codes called, and practitioners scrambling to perform CPR, start IV's, and defibrillate ... There are emergent medicines injected, bolus IV fluids administered, and other treatments implemented, designed to keep a person's body alive in the face of death. We are in the business of keeping a person alive, no matter that 'alive' may simply mean just that: breathing, or allowing a ventilator to breath for the person. What kind of quality does clinging to 'life' really bring to the person who lay motionless in a hospital bed, unaware of what is happening around her?

Here in the Western world, we are usually unwilling to accept the death of our physical bodies. We will scramble to save a life that has absolutely no quality left to it. We will insist our loved ones - who are simply existing, hovering between this world and the next, but not really living at all be made to endure having their chests compressed rapidly, because we are afraid to simply allow the dying process to happen. We will hold on to our loved ones because we are so fearful about letting them go, so fearful of releasing them from the bondage of this reality. It's really not about THEM at all, it's about our need to have them in our Life, even if that means they are simply existing and only because a machine is breathing for them.

I was visited by a patient in a dream not long ago, whom I had cared for in hospital while he was
dying. I'd always spoken to him quietly, and compassionately, as he lay dying. He always acknowledged me when I was talking to him, by opening his eyes and looking at me. At times, he would manage a wan, tired smile, but he was on a ventilator, and could not communicate. He consistently appeared to be struggling for oxygen, even though the continuous pulse oximeter read that his blood was 98% saturated with oxygen. One night, on one of my days off, after I'd cared lovingly for him for two days in a row,  I dreamed he came to me. In my dream, my patient was surrounded by bright, shining light and he said only two words to me: "Thank you." That was all.

I awakened with a start, knowing that he'd been released from this reality at last, and that he'd finally transitioned.  I wasn't scared ... I was happy for him. He was free. I'm a firm believer in the advances of technology and science, and I also believe firmly in Spirit. I believe the two are intertwined, and I also believe that when our bodies die, our essence (or Soul, or Spirit) continues to live on. Our Souls are energy ... and as physics states unequivocally, energy does not die. It can change, but it does not die. It continues on and on ... indefinitely.

Why does it seem that the entire Western world fears this perfectly natural transition from one reality to the next? Do you fear the transition? Do you fear death? Why, or why not? Fear is simply a lack of faith. What is there to look forward to if one has no faith in life after death?

These are some questions to consider ...

Until next time ~
